Your grace is sufficient for me

Love this quote by Sir Winston Churchill,

'Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.'

******

Trial exams are still on..can't wait for the 5th of September to arrive, that is, the last day of exam.=D

However,I just wanna thank God for His faithfulness in sustaining me throughout the first week of exams. Some of the papers weren't easy and time was constantly a constraint throughout, but still, I'm really grateful that the Lord's favour is upon me..I've always had problems finishing Pengajian Am II's 3 hour paper, but this time, i managed to complete all components ...and I just feel seriously happy about it. Lol. It really means a lot to me. And even for chemistry which has always been a struggle, i think i did better did this time.At least, i felt like i could answer the essay questions though not all of it..hehe.

Am really grateful God eventually picked me up after the loss of motivation eversince the mid-term exam..Though i must say i did nothing to deserve any of His help,(cuz honestly i haven't been studying much at all) but...His "grace is always sufficient for me."(2 Corinthians 12:9) And for that, I'm ever thankful.

All the best to all of you who are sitting for exams and those who are gonna sit for them soon.
You can do it.=D

'Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.' (also by Churchill)

Rats, and more rats

After nearly 10 long hours(or more) of being in the biology lab...perspiring away...getting frustrated over how to draw the complex diagrams of the rat's internal organs...holding the scissors and probe and forceps and i forgot-what-you-call-sharp-thingy...Well,i've officially and successfully managed to dissect a RAT!

Man, i feel so elated! I'm extremely tired after two days of sheer hardwork..but at the same time, there's no denying a sense of immense satisfaction. Gosh..am so happy that it's finally over!

We, the upper six bio students had to stay back at school to dissect our rats from 12pm till 6pm+ for two days. Honestly, it was kinda worrying at first...cuz you don't know what to expect. We had to "nail" the rat on the rubber board and begin with the operation.(I even had to break its bones to nail it...but its part of the procedure..=/)

After cutting the rat horizontally, tadah! It's internal organs were revealed. It's amazing how it's organs such as the liver, stomach, caecum, etc resembles us humans'. Except for the fact that its way tinier. =P

Now, here's the hard part....the DRAWING part, which in fact took up the largest amount of our time. Dissection itself, i must say, is very simple once u get the hang of it. It's also really fun! Each diagram gave us so much headache that we took up to 2 hours just to complete one. And what more, with our ever dedicated and meticulous bio teacher,
Puan Majinah, things had to be done close to perfection. Even the slightest mistake in our diagram would cause us to have to re-do the entire thing! It was that tedious.

But because of her, i believe most of us enjoyed our dissection. She just made everything look so simple. From locating the various blood vessels to cutting up the part which leads to the heart, she had it all at her finger tips. She's really one of the most marvelous bio teachers ever! =D so blessed to have her around.Hehe.

Anyway, i've also became quite "attached" to my lil' rat after working with it. I even took the trouble to hunt for it on the 2nd day...just to make sure i got him back.(yup, its a HE-rat) At first i just felt so disgusted looking at it,but after i got the hang of the process...i somehow felt a bit sad that the rat had to die that way...and also with an empty stomach(cuz the rectum was empty).

Michelle also made a very funny comment, she said my rat looks like it died in peace....cuz with its outstretched arms, it looks as though it's basking under the sun. Hahaha. Minus sunglasses and swimsuits. Well, at least i made full use of its organs eh...

Wish i had the photos to further illustrate what i'm talking about here...sadly, i didn't manage to take any. Oh well, guess that's about it. Won't wanna bore you with biology jargons and the science of necropsy.LOL.

But,trust me, you'll never look at Ratatouille and his humble mates the same way again.Especially after
dissecting their species.Hehe. (At least, i think so.^^)

Get Your Mojo Workin'

'Get Your Mojo Workin' '
That's the tagline of the restaurant cum bar we went to last Sunday. It's situated at the Asian Heritage Row near Bukit Bintang area if you're curious to know where it is..

Anyway, i shall let the pics do most of the talking...

At the balcony. I totally love the ambience..it's just so relaxing.
Good spot to unwind and chill out.

Upstairs..
There's about 5 to 6 pool tables here.
So, if you're a pool lover..you'll love this place.
P/S:That lil' girl is my naughty yet adorable sis,Zoe.

A glimpse of how the pool area looks like.. There's also the American and British pools.(though i honestly don't know whats the difference)

******

Time to go downstairs for our meals...

Our appetizer: MONSTER platter! We gobbled this up in no time.
It was deliciousssssssssssss.
My yummy fish and chips.

Jeannie's chicken soup.

Josh's really huge serving of chicken i-dunno-what.
It's really yummy though..topped with generous
amounts of cheese. Perfect for two persons.

My bro's Duck Aglio Olio. I'd recommend
this to everyone! It's a tad spicy though.

Zoe's spaghetti. I doubt she can finish this
portion..and well...she didn't. My bro had to
eat her remnants...haha.

Jeannie and Yi Li ordered this---Lamb Shank. I'm not a big fan of lambs..but
this was not bad at all.The meat was tender..just the right texture.

CHOCOLATE ice cream!!!!!!!!

Chocolate mousse

The Apricot Slice topped with almonds + vanilla ice cream.

Aaaaahh...our stomaches are really filled now. Praise God for such a hearty meal! And the best part is,we don't have to pay a single cent for all the food and drinks.

Snapshots after the scrumptious dinner......

The Cheah sisters. My most beloved friends.=)

Dearest Jeannie and mua.

The three gorgeous gals.=D [Love the leopard print sofa]

Josh and I. [Me heart this pic]
Yi Li and the bar counter. Hehe. Martinis or tequilas, anyone?

And now....it's time for some recreational activities after having digested our food....

POOL HOUR!

Demonstrating her skills....LOL.

The pro aims..ready to strike the ball.

Just look at those eyes. So full of concentration!

As for me...I'm contented just to pose with the pool ''stick''. A total amateur when it comes to this..haha.

Well, we stayed till 11pm++...it was getting late..so we had to adjourn..
I'd say we had a really wonderful time eating, fellowshipping, taking photos, and basically, having fun.

P/S: If anyone of you wants to know more about Mojo's, don't hesitate to let me know yea. Will be glad to fill you in on more details.Hehe. This place has my seal of approval!

Wait till i get my hands on you!

Books i want to get my hands on:

1. 'The Host', by Stephenie Meyers (one of my favourite authors)

This is her latest book! Can't wait to see what this is all about.

And it's 20% off for MPH members! I waaaaaannnnt!

2. 'Breaking Dawn', also by Stephenie Meyers.

This book is the fourth and final sequel to her best-selling novels, namely 'Twilight', 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse'. Weeeee! i have all three books. Not gonna miss the final one, that's for sure. But i shall have to wait for its release in August this year.

3. 'The Chocolate Run' by Dorothy Koomson.

The title sounds catchy right? hehe. I have not read her previous book, 'My Best Friend's Girl', which is quite popular. But i'm seriously hoping to get my hands on those two books.

4. 'When God Whispers Your Name', by Max Lucado.

I flipped thru this book once in Borders bookstore..The first chapter itself gripped me and i didn't want to leave the bookstore without having it. Sadly, i didn't carry enough cash with me that time.=(

Gosh..i actually have a whole lot more books which i wanna buy and read. Talk about books by Cecilia Ahern and Sophie Kinsella and loads more...and self-help books like those by Robert Kiyosaki and all.. Books are just never enough for me! But i shall stop with just four today.

Gee.. i sound D E S P E R A T E. Haha.

Well, can't help it..Books are very much a part of my life eversince i was a child. Can you imagine life without books? I really can't.

How i wish i owned the entire MPH bookstore chain. Then i can have as may books as i wanna have.=D

Somebody please relieve my heavy cravings for those books!

Later, i found it on the library desk.Somehow it miraculously reappeared. So i guess that makes him interesting cuz now i remember him clearly due to that incident...=D ( I know u didn't take it, sorry for the confusion also. Haha)

Dads' Day

Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day. =)
nd marshmallows with chocolate fountain, but unfortunately, they didn't serve that in Coronade.(My siblings told me they had that in Prince hotel's buffet..but i wasn't there the other time.) And another variety they lacked-- japanese food. Sushi and miso soup and all. But thank God i'm not a fan of sushis and the likes...i just find them too raw and inedible. Lol.

Overall, the buffet was one
My family and I went to church in the morning and after the service, we went to Coronade hotel for high tea. It's like a buffet where you can eat as much as you want, from 1 pm right up till 5pm.Honestly, you can eat till you bloat with the amount of scrumptious food available.

By 3pm, my stomach capacity had already reached its maximum. You know,i even took a plate of pasta but i left it on the table cuz i really couldn't eat it anymore.......lol.I really didn't wanna waste..especially such delicious food.I thought i could still stuff it in but i just couldn't.Really, really couldn't. One tiny bite almost caused me to spit it out but i swallowed it anyway. And for those of you who know me or have seen me ate, u would understand that my stomach storage for food is probably equivalent to that of a mice. (Or perhaps, even smaller.)

Anyway, i would love to show u the varieties of food they offered but i won't be able to upload any pics from my phone into my blog for the moment, not until i get a new cellphone.Hopefully, latest by early next year.My current phone only has a VGA camera, ever since the previous one got stolen. So..do bear with me yea!

But lets see....i'll just roughly list down what i ate...=P
- Lasagna with rich cheese toppings. (Really yummmmmy)
- Crabsticks and some fried fritters.
- Spaghetti fettucini
- Mango Chicken with what-tasted-like-lemon gravy (Anyone tried that before? It's my first and definitely not the last. It was good!)

My second helping:
- Fruit salad and some kind of salad with minced chicken.
- A pink cendol-like drink with jellies inside.

That was all i could take for the 2nd round. = /

Ahh...DESSERTS! I had 'Tau foo fa'. The brown sugar they served aren't as tasty as those sold by vendors outside but it was still pretty good. What else...i had two slices of cake. One cappucino and another a creamy one. And who can live without ice creams? Haha. I had vanilla with chocolate fondue plus nuts. =P

Seriously, i think i need to work out after all the heavy eating. There were times when i even forced myself to gorge the food cuz i couldn't bear to let the foods go to waste. There were other foods which i didnt try...i just nibbled a bit here and there from my brother's plate...like satay, 'ikan bakar', roasted chicken, etc.

I was looking forward to eating fruits awhich left me physically very satisfied.=D I'm pretty sure my stomach was beaming with glee but my digestive system would probably had had a tough time trying to churn and shred the extra food i consumed.( Imagine all the calories man...)

Oh, our family also won a 2days 1 night stay for two in the hotel as a result of winning a competition they organized during the high tea.Yay! My sis and bro + my dad, went up front and participated in a few games. In fact, they took part in all games except one. 'Daddy's Favourite' game and a cake deco competition. We won the first game and got fourth for the deco thingy. There was this 'Macho man' competition which involved two of my uncles, minus my dad.Neither of them managed to take home the travel voucher cuz one pulled out at the end and another lost out to 2 other uncles in singing. lol. Guess what? my uncle sang a hokkien song when the others sung in english. Oh..one of them sang a children's nursery rhymes. Haha. It was just pure hillarious. But i admire his spontaneity!

I'm glad i went for this high tea. Though it left me with a headache, literally. (Probably cuz i ate too much and started feeling nauseated) But the fun and fellowship we had was worthwhile. And most importantly is that my dad and all the other daddys had their share of enjoyment.

Here's wishing my coolest dad a Blessed "belated" Father's Day and also to my greatest Heavenly Father.=D
You both rock to the max! You've always given everything yet demanded nothing.
THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.
