MUET Speaking Test

Praise God that the MUET Speaking Test earlier this morning went on pretty fine. That's why I'm online at home now. =D Some of my friends are still going through the battle now.

My group was the first to sit for the test today, since I'm the first person in my class' name list and my members are the last few from Clancy...

Felt quite nervous and jittery. And my stomach began to churn..you know..the usual butterflies in the stomach phenomenon.Haha.

Anyway the examiners were really lovely people. Not at all intimidating. Well, that helped me relax a lil'. Phew. My individual 2 mins presentation was pretty alright, at least I felt I did okay...hmm..The group presentation was also okay. And this time round, all the group members had equal opportunities to voice out their ideas. Although I have to admit that I felt like I didn't get to talk as much as the previous practices, but this time's discussion was more.........more....balanced,in a sense.

At the end of it, we had two conclusions instead of one. I suppose that's ok right?
Well, hopefully I will be able to achieve my target for MUET.=) Really hoping and praying for the best now.

Final days as a High School Student

Time for some updates.=) Been quite some time i know..teehee..

Well, school life is really coming to an end for me and my fellow comrades in Upper Six...although I'm technically no longer a high school student except that we still have to wear uniforms.LOL. Only one day left, which is on Friday, for class party. And that is the end.THE END. We only have to go back on the 30th this month for Graduation Ceremony. Can hardly believe it! As cliche as this sounds, time really flies......

Somehow,I know I'm gonna miss many things that I've been through for the past 1 and a half years in MBS..be it the teachers, friends, environment or even the school itself. Sounds bizarre to be missing even the school huh? But I can already feeling the nostalgia sinking in. =/

Gotta and gonna cherish the final days left! Cuz we all know after graduation, its really hard to meet up often especially when each of us have different commitments right?

********

Today was the 2nd last day of the school and the assembly was unusually long..not to mention the weather was bleaching hot. And we stood till our legs felt all wobbly and weak. Lol. There were also many certificates and prizes given out today since its technically the last assembly of the year for some of us. Certs given out to top achievers in SPM and STPM trial exam, Nilam reading programme, some clubs and societies thingy,Lambs Challenge Trophy, University of New South Wales competition, etc. Then we sang the school song before everything finally ended...why am i talking about all these? Haha

On another more important note..haha.. I'm really grateful and thankful to the Lord for blessing me with a Distinction in English for the University of New South Wales competition for schools in Malaysia. Also, I'm really happy and equally as shocked that i got Merit in Kuiz Kimia Kebangsaan ( National Chemistry Quiz). Totally unexpected. Honestly, I don't think I deserve it cuz people who consistently scored higher than me in chem didn't get it...this seriously baffles me. And I remember I couldn't even answer half of the questions in the paper cuz it was freaking tough..Weird..I thought maybe there was some mistakes somewhere...

Well, what can i say? But I'm just really THANKFUL to the Lord for His blessings. It's really not accomplished by my own strength nor efforts but by His grace. Really, really amazed at His goodness. Praise Him!

********

Actually I was down with fever yesterday but I'm much better now..Was very worried cuz I'm having MUET Speaking Test on Wednesday and I was afraid that if i have sorethroat, it would jeopardize my entire group! Everyone's marks will be affected. So i prayed hard that I would recover quickly and praise God that my fever has completely subsided. =D

I wonder why I keep falling sick this year.

I've never been admitted to the school office for more than 3 times per year, but i broke the record this year.*gasp*

Just last week, I had severe headache and starting vomiting in the toilet...Previously, the same happened on the same day when Biology exam was on. So i had no choice but to sit for my exam in teacher's office..just in case i need to rush to the toilet. And I'm constantly down with fever or aches in my body this year. Never had it occured so frequently before!

Many say its due to stress stress stress...and I guess that's true. STPM can drive you nuts! 2nd toughest exam in the World ma... Glad that it's coming to an end though! hahahhahahahaha.

Lookin' forward to post-STPM life. =)

Good and Bad news

Good news is.....

I just received a parcel from UK! Weeeeeeeee! I was so elated about it cuz this is my first time getting something that is posted from a land far, far away. Haha.

Well,it's none other than from my beloved friend, JEANNIE!

Really wasn't expecting a birthday gift from her. Wishing me thru the phone was already so awesome..haha.

Moreover the postage fee is so expensive...
Thanks a lot yea sis! I'm really touched by your simple act of love.=)

The precious gifts from her. Love everything, especially the personalized card.^^

And i also got belated gifts from Claudia and William today. Thanks a lot =D
It really doesn't matter what u guys give cuz it's the sincerity that matters rite!

My fashionista partner, Claudia, who even gave me an exotic looking ring and a layered necklace. Haha. Thanxie!

A lil' 'God bless you' gift from Will.i.am. =) hehe thanks!! GBU too!

Okie, that's the good news part.

On the other hand, STPM is drawing nearer as the day passes..less than two months.*gasp*
I've gotten most of my trial exam papers, and honestly there's still plenty of room for improvements.
Am particularly disappointed with biology this time...which has always been my fav subject... but i guess things were different this time since our papers were marked by two different teachers...and i happened to get the stricter teacher, Pn.Majinah.
Those of us whose papers were marked by her were seriously disappointed with our marks..it was totally unexpected! You can see the obvious drop in our marks compared to the mid term paper.
But i've gotta come to terms with it and just accept it.What else to do? Maybe i'll check the marking scheme and see if any marks could be added..=/
And this makes me even more determined to do better for the final thing in November.

Okay, am done posting! Shouldn't be here for too long! Need to study!

Have a great week!!!

Turning 19

Gosh.....time seriously flies. I can't believe I'm officially nineteen for 6 days already. Hahaha. Still a teen though. But like William said, its the last year i get to be 1x years old.. After that, I'll be joining the 20s club already! haha. Getting old real fast eh. =P

Well, this year's birthday was less elaborate than the previous year's...erm..actually it wasn't less elaborate..just that i didn't have a gathering like last year. But I've gotta say it's one of my best birthdays ever if not the best!!!

I just really wanna say thank you to all those who wished me in person, all those who sms-ed me..those who called, especially Jeannie who called all the way from UK! Even all those who wished me via Facebook, Friendster or by e-mail.
And last but not least,a big thank you to Josh who celebrated with me for almost the entire day.
(and even to those who couldn't remember..it's alritey! still love you all!)

I remembered all of you who wished me, by name.=D hehe. A big thank you once again. Each of your wishes meant a lot!

A big thank you to Laveena also who gave me a fish key chain. Really wasn't expecting a gift from you..but thanks so much for your thoughtfulness. It's reaaaally sweet of you.=)

Hmm..did i miss out on anyone else?

Oh yes, to Kar Wai and Dennis for the Dorothy Koomson books.
And to Kar Wai who made me such a lovely birthday card and a bookmark also.I'm sure it took a lot of effort.Thanxie!!!

And how can i forget my beloved parents and siblings! My 9 year sis actually wrote me a note with 'i love yous' and apologizing for all her misdeeds..and loads more..Couldn't resist giving her a big hug! Oh yea, she bought me an Archie's comic also.lol. My bro has yet to give me my pressies yet but thank you for wishing me yea..
And to my parents who gave me cash which is quite enough to support my expenses for shopping this time round.HAHAHA.
Love you all to bits!

*********

And how can i forget the one person who truly made my 19th birthday such a memorable one?
Josh.

Thank you for picking me up from school on the 9th of September.
Thank you for driving me to Times Square after that..and i even managed to get a printed T- shirt there for the first time.
Thank you for bringing me to Tesco to have our lunch..as i was already starving that time. Lol.
Thank you, even though you forgot i wanted to buy chocolate waffles. ^^
Thank you for your enthusiasm about celebrating my birthday with me in the evening that you showed up on time at my doorstep when i was still struggling to find the right pair of heels to wear. =P

Well, will the 'thank yous' ever come to an end?

I'm not done yet leh...

Thank you for this,

It's so sparkly and shiny and i love it.Like they say, diamonds are a girl's best friend?haha. In my opinion, this comes close to it! hehehe. I know how much effort you put into getting me this..how much you had to save just to get this necklace which honestly,is nothing, compared to your sincerity.=) Love the fact that it has high refractiveness..shiny! (i added the 'unforgivable' strip of perfume paper there..it doesn't come with it.lol)

and

thank you for this,

You pre-ordered this clay-like deco and I must say it's soooo special! So fragile yet so pretty!

and

for reading out the poem you wrote from the gigantic birthday card.

And finally, thank you for ending the day by singing me your own version of 'Happy Birthday' with your own recorded playing on the piano.=D

I really feel indebted to Josh cuz he even went to the extent of modifying the traditional bday song and playing it on the piano, recording it and then singing according to the tune for me. I still have the recording, but guess i won't upload it here.haha. Thank you so very much =)

The cards...

The pressies...

Thank you once again to every single person who made my 19th birthday so unforgettable!

Towards the end of 9th of Sept, Yi Li called me and then Jeannie called me a few minutes before the clock struck 12..
what better way to end my birthday right?

Mad about Books

Aaaaaaaaaaah.......... *heaves a sigh of RELIEF*

Finally.
Trial exams are over. For GOOD.

Been waiting for the 5th of Sept to arrive since eons ago..
To be very honest with you, my enthusiasm sorta dwindled as the 14 days went by( it really seemed like an eternity). I couldn't help counting the days to "freedom". Though I am of course fully aware that the real battle a.k.a STPM has not begin yet..

Well, I shall rant no more about my exams for now. Cuz I wanna blog about stuffs that i have been wanting to talk about ever since before exams..=D

********

Alritey! So i talked about wanting to get a few yummylicious books about two months ago right?

And I'm really elated to say that i've managed to get TWO out of the four targeted books.
With the help of some wonderful peeps of course.

TADAH!

I'm partially covered by BREAKING DAWN!!!!! Still unwrapped.Fresh from Popular bookstore.Haha.

Initially, I wanted to resist the urge to get the book until after my trial exams. But i just couldn't! Imagine only getting my hands on the book today, I would probably have read so many newspaper and online reviews that it would distort my perceptions about the book even prior to reading to myself.

Once I started reading, i couldn't bear to part with it. I brought it everywhere...to the dining table, to the sofa, and even to the washroom. And when i had to part with it momentarily, like when i go for tuition classes.. i did so unwillingly. The characters such as the ever dashing and mysterious EDWARD CULLEN and his other-significant half, Bella Swan, would still linger in the sea of my thoughts until i arrived home. It's simply an unputdownable!

Oh yea..i also got 20% off 'Breaking Dawn' using Popular Member's card. =) At first, i wanted to purchase a hard cover one..but they didn't sell it..Never mind though, im still happy that i finished reading the final installment to the sequel! (although i wished the story would never come to an end)

If you wanna know more about why Twilight sequel which has been topping the best-selling lists and even almost surpassing the 'Harry Potter' series, you should really get your hands on the book! No regrets! All three of my books are already loaned to friends. And more on the waiting list too.hehe.

You might also wanna check out Ha Nnah's blog which features her interesting reviews on 'Breaking Dawn'.

Did i forget to mention that the Twilight movie is coming to our theatres in December?
weeeeeeeeeeeee! CAN'T WAIT!

*********

Yay! yay! yay!
Happiness number two!
More BOOKSSSSSSSSS!
Haha.

Got these 3 books for the price of two only at Borders.

And the credit goes to...*drumrolls*..
Kar Wai
and Dennis.

They paid for these books. One to fulfill my book cravings and the other as my pre-birthday gift(or is it considered my present already?LOL) Anyway, I'm just really thankful to the both of them cuz i really got more than what i've bargained for. Really grateful to the Lord for knowing and granting me the desires of my heart.

However, these three books are still under ''safe-keeping'' with someone. There's a requirement i need to fulfill in order to get all three books.Haha.It's for my own good anyway.
I'm still HAPPY about it~ =D

Shall be spending my post-exam moments reading some good books and going for retail therapy! Then it's back to school BOOKS again.Haha.

Your grace is sufficient for me

Love this quote by Sir Winston Churchill,

'Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.'

******

Trial exams are still on..can't wait for the 5th of September to arrive, that is, the last day of exam.=D

However,I just wanna thank God for His faithfulness in sustaining me throughout the first week of exams. Some of the papers weren't easy and time was constantly a constraint throughout, but still, I'm really grateful that the Lord's favour is upon me..I've always had problems finishing Pengajian Am II's 3 hour paper, but this time, i managed to complete all components ...and I just feel seriously happy about it. Lol. It really means a lot to me. And even for chemistry which has always been a struggle, i think i did better did this time.At least, i felt like i could answer the essay questions though not all of it..hehe.

Am really grateful God eventually picked me up after the loss of motivation eversince the mid-term exam..Though i must say i did nothing to deserve any of His help,(cuz honestly i haven't been studying much at all) but...His "grace is always sufficient for me."(2 Corinthians 12:9) And for that, I'm ever thankful.

All the best to all of you who are sitting for exams and those who are gonna sit for them soon.
You can do it.=D

'Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.' (also by Churchill)

Rats, and more rats

After nearly 10 long hours(or more) of being in the biology lab...perspiring away...getting frustrated over how to draw the complex diagrams of the rat's internal organs...holding the scissors and probe and forceps and i forgot-what-you-call-sharp-thingy...Well,i've officially and successfully managed to dissect a RAT!

Man, i feel so elated! I'm extremely tired after two days of sheer hardwork..but at the same time, there's no denying a sense of immense satisfaction. Gosh..am so happy that it's finally over!

We, the upper six bio students had to stay back at school to dissect our rats from 12pm till 6pm+ for two days. Honestly, it was kinda worrying at first...cuz you don't know what to expect. We had to "nail" the rat on the rubber board and begin with the operation.(I even had to break its bones to nail it...but its part of the procedure..=/)

After cutting the rat horizontally, tadah! It's internal organs were revealed. It's amazing how it's organs such as the liver, stomach, caecum, etc resembles us humans'. Except for the fact that its way tinier. =P

Now, here's the hard part....the DRAWING part, which in fact took up the largest amount of our time. Dissection itself, i must say, is very simple once u get the hang of it. It's also really fun! Each diagram gave us so much headache that we took up to 2 hours just to complete one. And what more, with our ever dedicated and meticulous bio teacher,
Puan Majinah, things had to be done close to perfection. Even the slightest mistake in our diagram would cause us to have to re-do the entire thing! It was that tedious.

But because of her, i believe most of us enjoyed our dissection. She just made everything look so simple. From locating the various blood vessels to cutting up the part which leads to the heart, she had it all at her finger tips. She's really one of the most marvelous bio teachers ever! =D so blessed to have her around.Hehe.

Anyway, i've also became quite "attached" to my lil' rat after working with it. I even took the trouble to hunt for it on the 2nd day...just to make sure i got him back.(yup, its a HE-rat) At first i just felt so disgusted looking at it,but after i got the hang of the process...i somehow felt a bit sad that the rat had to die that way...and also with an empty stomach(cuz the rectum was empty).

Michelle also made a very funny comment, she said my rat looks like it died in peace....cuz with its outstretched arms, it looks as though it's basking under the sun. Hahaha. Minus sunglasses and swimsuits. Well, at least i made full use of its organs eh...

Wish i had the photos to further illustrate what i'm talking about here...sadly, i didn't manage to take any. Oh well, guess that's about it. Won't wanna bore you with biology jargons and the science of necropsy.LOL.

But,trust me, you'll never look at Ratatouille and his humble mates the same way again.Especially after
dissecting their species.Hehe. (At least, i think so.^^)
